Selectee will serve as the Lead for the System Management Team within the Extravehicular Activity (EVA) and Human Surface Mobility (EHP) Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) office. You will be responsible for leading a matrixed team of system managers for systems that are cross-cutting across the EHP elements, such as communications, navigation, environments, power, logistics, etc.
Duties
Lead the System Management Team within the EVA and Human Surface Mobility Program (EHP) Systems Engineering and Integration (SEI) office.
Oversee and ensure EHP system management involvement in robust systems engineering practices including requirement allocations, requirement interpretation/guidance, review of verification evidence, and overall system design and mission certification.
Maintain and mature the Architecture Definition Document (ADD) for EHP
Ensure the successful execution of EHP Analysis Cycle (EHAC), Exploration Mission Analysis Cycle (EMAC), and other Moon to Mars Analysis Cycle tasks delegated to System Managers as leads or participants.
Maintain the budget and schedule(s) for the EHP SEI System Management Team including active participation in providing inputs and reviews associated with the agency program planning and budget process.
Ensure extensibility of the EHP system(s) across the Surface Phase, support efforts at Moon to Mars and the Strategy and Architecture Office to expand Lunar surface capabilities and ensure inter-phase system integration alignment and maturation.
Oversee the development and maturation of system specifications including direction of specification authors (typically SMEs in the respective field) and coordination/collaboration of inter-program and inter-agency stakeholders.

Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Education Requirement (in the Education section below), to qualify for this position you must meet the requirements below. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
NASA utilizes OPM-approved qualification and rating requirements specific for Aerospace Technology (AST) positions which recognizes NASA's unique aerospace work. The specific qualifications and minimum education requirements are further described below and within the education section of the job announcement.
To qualify at the GS-15 level, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level:
Serving as and/or leading a team of System Manager(s) or equivalent with a demonstrated understanding of the roles and responsibilities of that function within an aerospace program structure;
Leading a dispersed and matrixed team of experts in a wide array of fields;
Managing technical, cost, schedule and risk for an aerospace program/project.

Education
Basic Education Requirement: You must have successfully completed a bachelor's degree with a major in one of the following:
a) Engineering from a college or university that has ABET accredited engineering programs
b) Physical Science, Mathematics, Life Science or other field of Science
c) Computer Science that included 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours of course work in any combination of mathematics, statistics and computer science with at least half of those hours in mathematics and statistics courses that included differential and integral calculus; and that provided an in-depth knowledge of theoretical and practical applications of computer science, including digital computer system architecture and system software organization, the representation and transformation of information structures, and the theoretical models for such representations and transformations.
If you did not complete a qualifying bachelor's degree, you may be eligible if you have obtained a graduate degree in an AST qualifying field, as listed above.
Degrees in engineering technology are
not considered qualifying for this position.
