Duties
The Management Analyst position is located in Correctional Programs Division, Policy Development and Planning Section, and is responsible for providing guidelines to Bureau of Prison (BOP) employees on a national level regarding a myriad of issues including, the Victim and Witness Notification Program and the Victim Notification System. Incumbent is responsible for internal communications with other Bureau of Prisons staff, communication with other government agencies and communication with the general public.

Qualifications
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following qualification requirements.
Education:
Master’s or equivalent graduate degree, OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, OR LL.B. or J.D., if related. Graduate education must provide the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the position.

Experience:
You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. To be creditable, this experience must have equipped the applicant with the particular qualifications to perform successfully the duties of the position, and must typically be in or related to the position to be filled. Some examples of this qualifying experience are:
Experience in gathering and analyzing information to formulate reports, evaluate program effectiveness and assisting with policy development.
Experience that demonstrates knowledge of data base computer programs and word processing software in order to run reports; experience in manipulating and organizing data into reports or logs.
Experience in preparing correspondence in response to inquiries from the public, other agencies, Congressional correspondence and internal memoranda.
Experience in coordinating and monitoring Inmate Financial Responsibility programs.
Experience in assisting with the preparation, planning and coordination of training programs.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience:
Have a combination of successfully completed graduate education and specialized experience. Only graduate education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level may be used. Experience must have equipped you with the qualifications to perform the major duties of this position as described above.
Credit will be given for paid and unpaid experience. To receive proper credit, you must show the actual time (such as the number of hours worked per week) spent in activities.
