Duties
Serves as the primary technical authority on distribution operations and programs, interpreting higher level guidance and developing local operating instructions and policies.
Monitors the receiving, inspection, loading and unloading, segregation, storage, issue, and delivery of supply component items in accordance with established policy and procedures.
Plans, analyzes, evaluates, and advises on work operations and securing mission projects with emphasis placed on cost efficiency.
Assures mission operations are accomplished in accordance with established policy and management goals regarding funding, storage, workload, manpower capability, component issues, equipment items, and inventory control procedures.
Coordinates supply function procedures with item managers, including requisitioning procedures and methods of requesting, receiving, accounting, issuing, storing, and preserving supplies and equipment.
Prepares standard operating procedures (SOPs) for supply personnel regarding supply procedures, inventory control management practices, and shipping/transportation functions.

- This position and any future selections from this announcement may be used to fill various shifts located within DLA Distribution Susquehanna located in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.
Qualifications
To qualify for a Supervisory Distribution Facilities Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support:
A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
Providing instructions/training to subordinate personnel regarding supply procedures, inventory control management practices, and shipping/transportation functions.
Coordinating supply function procedures to include methods of requesting, receiving, accounting, issuing, storing, and preserving supplies and equipment.
Developing and implementing equipment requirements and methods of improvement in deficient areas.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
