This position is located at Dzilth-na-o-dith-hle Health Center, Administrative Services Branch, Bloomfield, NM. The position provides a variety of support duties associated with patient care, navigation, transport, medication refills, treatment, and other duties related to promotion of health and wellness at the family and community levels. Incumbent works as a floater assigned to support Pharmacy, Outpatient Clinic, Community Health Services, and other areas needing additional assistance.
Duties
Serves as a pharmacy runner to allow patients to safely remain in their vehicles when they access the drive-up pharmacy medication refill service.
Greets, welcomes and orients patients to the drive-up pharmacy service
Guides patients to the appropriate locations for check-in and waiting for refills
Gathers key data from patients about their medication needs and contact information
Communicates information to pharmacy staff, according to established protocols
Picks up medication from pharmacy refill service
Delivers medications to patients waiting in their vehicles.
Follows HIPAA privacy protocols for verifying patient identification and information
Manages safe traffic flow in and out of the pharmacy refill parking area
Serves as an entry point safety screener, screening for COVID-19 and other infectious disease risks through symptom questions and temperature measurements.
May assist patients within the facility by wheelchair and transport them to their vehicle as needed.
Provides support to Community Health COVID response including making phone calls to individuals and families regarding test results, appropriate education and isolation/quarantine instructions as appropriate.
May occasionally use a GSA vehicle to assist in community health activities and/or transport equipments.
Qualifications

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

Individual Occupational Requirements
Specialized Experience (for positions at GS-4 and above): Positions in this series range widely in type and include support duties to medical or health personnel such as audiologists, speech pathologists, medical officers, and optometrists. Therefore, technician experience is experience that required application of the knowledge, methods, and techniques of the position to be filled.

Education and Training
For GS-4: Successful completion of 2 years of study that included at least 12 semester hours in subjects related to the position.
In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Specialized experience: greet patients; administrative task and patient support; use of electronic software for tracking and locating patients; basic clerical duties; schedules appointments; maintains security and confidentiality of data and information.
General experience: Performing clinical duties such as taking and recording vital signs and preparing patients for examination, typical of medical assistant or health education positions.

Completed 2 years of education above high school that included at least 12 semester hours in subjects
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
