In support of the Maui Long-Term Recovery Office (LTRO), this position will supervise all functions and personnel of the Planning Section, aiding in ensuring the recovery needs of impacted communities and survivors are met. The ideal candidate possesses the ability to lead and coordinate a diverse team of planners through the application of excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills in a dynamic, challenging, and rewarding environment.

In this Supervisory Emergency Management Specialist (Planning) position, you will serve as the Long-Term Recovery Office (LTRO) Planning Section Chief (PSC) and will be responsible for conducting/supporting efficient & effective integrated recovery planning at the direction of senior leadership. To qualify for this Supervisory Emergency Management Specialist (Planning) position at the IC-14 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the IC-13 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following: Providing supervisory oversight of employees to achieve organizational goals, including identifying priorities, evaluating performance, and reviewing outcomes; and Interpreting legislation, regulations, policies, or other guidance to implement risk identification activities for substantive emergency management or compliance programs; and Collaborating with stakeholders concerning the administration of disaster support programs.
