About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the National Ground Intelligence Center, Science and Technology Directorate, A2AD Division, Charlottesville, VA 22911.

Duties

Serves as an analyst in the Anti-Access Area Denial (A2AD) Division at the National Ground Intelligence Center analyzing foreign developments in advanced battlefield surveillance systems. Performs technical analysis of battlefield surveillance radars. Applies engineering knowledge and principles to evaluate intelligence reporting related to radar systems. Analyzes critical intelligence issues and trends, develops and utilizes new research methodologies, and refines traditional techniques in order to identify intelligence gaps. Produce targeted Science and Technology (S and T) intelligence reports and briefings to inform decision makers at military commands, R and D agencies, and policy makers.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
• In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
