Duties
Collect information from records or in the Field to be used in planning and other documents such as inventory plans, range improvement plans and grazing transfers.
Performs on the ground monitoring of allotments to determine compliance, range condition and required maintenance.
Independently conducts related monitoring studies and determines the need for range and watershed improvement.
Utilize various types of computer programs and software applications to ener and process grazing applications, bills and permits.
Develop resource management strategies for the prevention and control of noxious and invasive weeds.
Requirements

Qualifications

GS 05: You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples: work in conservation, regulation, or use of public or federally controlled lands for grazing; range or natural science related research activities; work in the operation of a livestock ranch or in assisting in the management or preservation of lands comparable to public range; or work in vegetation monitoring.

Education: Successfully completed four (4) years of successfully completed education above the high school level leading to a bachelor's degree (a) with major study in forestry, range management, agriculture, or a subject-matter field directly related to the position, or (b) that included at least 24 semester hours in any combination of courses. No more than 6 semester hours in mathematics is creditable.

Combination of Education and Experience: You may meet qualifications requirement for this position with an equivalent combination of specialized experience and appropriate undergraduate education.
GS-7: You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-6 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples: working in any professional, technical, or other responsible field that provided you with a familiarity of soils or techniques of collecting scientific data; following specific instructions to check extensive data relating to the survey/study area; collecting samples; observing and recording specific information (i.e., vegetative cover, water quality samples, flora, or fauna), or taking soil samples by layer and root samples; makes observations and records data prescribed in soil studies.-

Education: You must possess one (1) full year of graduate education directly related to the work of the position such as forestry, range management or conservation, wildlife management, agriculture, crop or plant science.- OR-Combination of Education and Experience: You may meet qualifications requirement for this position with an equivalent combination of specialized experience and appropriate graduate education. Graduate level education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. Only graduate education beyond the first 9 semester hours can be combined with GS-6 level experience.
GS-9: You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-8 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples: following specific instructions to check extensive data relating to the survey/study area; collecting samples; observing and recording specific information (i.e., vegetative cover, water quality samples, flora, or fauna) , or taking soil samples by layer and root samples; makes observations and records data prescribed in soil studies.

Education: You must possess two (2) full years of graduate education related to the work of the position such as forestry, range management or conservation, wildlife management, agriculture, crop or plant science.- OR-Combination of Education and Experience: You may meet qualifications requirement for this position with an equivalent combination of specialized experience and appropriate graduate education. Graduate level education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. Only graduate education beyond the first 18 semester hours can be combined with GS-8 level experience.
