A selectee receiving a first appointment to the Federal Government (Civil Service) is entitled only to the lowest step of the grade for which selected. The display of a salary range on this vacancy shall not be construed as granting an entitlement to a higher rate of pay. These positions are located in the Maintenance Division at Valley Forge National Historical Park.

Duties

Performing manual work directly related to elementary trade practices (i.e., repairing/replacing boards on a picnic table or bench, cleaning/replacing sprinkler heads, or installing basic fixtures in restrooms, such as paper holders and soap dishes). Performing basic preventative maintenance on structures with minimal supervision. Operating light duty motor vehicles weighing up to 10,000 pounds (such as pick-up trucks, panel trucks, flatbed trucks, etc.) to transport personnel, material, or equipment to work sites located on the park. Assisting higher graded staff on preservation projects. Applying paints and finishes to interior and exterior surfaces.
