About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command, U.S. Army Counterintelligence Command Region 6 - PAC - JB Pearl Harbor Ft. Meade, MD.

Duties

Maintain a wide range of security activities internal and external to the organization's various areas of operations. Provide oversight, guidance and direction to Field Offices and Resident Areas within Regions, to include, but not limited to civilian, military and contractor personnel assigned and/or attached under USACIC cognizance. Support implementation of the organization's PHYSEC program. Serve as Site Security Representative (SSR). Administers SCI billets, indoctrinations, and debriefings.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 of AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, must successfully pass a urinalysis for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • All INSCOM employees may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for access to sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
  • Temporary Duty (TDY) Travel may be required 25% or less of the time.
  • This position has been identified for the Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) Certification Program. (See Additional Information).

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience with two or more of the following Personnel Security, Physical Security, Information Security, and Special Access Programs (SAP) security and includes the Security Education Training and Awareness (SETA). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-12). Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.
