Duties
Administers and maintains AMPO military pay and financial management systems, hardware, and software.
Troubleshoots issues with hardware, Wide Area Network (WAN), and Local Area Network (LAN).
Verifies that all computer equipment, attachments, and power support items are approved and in compliance with existing regulations, directives, and vendor specifications.
Serves as an AMPO network security officer; implements security plans, processes procedures, and training to comply with DoD, DA, and DFAS systems security rules, regulations, and standards.
Provides technical support for all Mobilizations (MOBs), Demobilizations (DMOBs) and Soldier Readiness Processing at various locations.
Renders technical computer support for the AMPO Director and AMPO Divisions and sections as needed.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.

- Suitable for Federal employment.
- Time after Competitive Appointment: Candidates must have served 3 months after latest competitive appointment in the Federal service
- Obtain/Maintain Information Assurance (IA) Certification
Qualifications
Time in Grade:
For entry at the GS-09 level, status applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-07 or higher grade in the Federal Service.
Specialized Experience:
In a one-grade interval series, experience at the second lower grade level can be credited when there is no position in the normal line of progression that is one grade lower than the position being filled. 1 year of specialized experience at the next lower (GS-8) or second lower level (GS-7) is creditable for in-service applicants. However, for outside applicants (i.e., those without current or prior Federal competitive or excepted service), 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower level (GS-8) is required.
For the GS-09, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-07 if outside the Federal service.
Specialized experience is defined as providing computer hardware and software support to an organization, including administration and oversight of financial management systems, processing and performance, and/or direct support functions and resolving operational issues, malfunctions, or user problems.
In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirements, qualified applicants must also possess the quality of experience as it relates to how closely or to what extent an applicant's background, recency of experience, education, and training are relevant to the duties and responsibilities of the announced position. Candidates must clearly demonstrate the possession of knowledge, skills and abilities, or competencies necessary to successfully perform the work of the position at the appropriate level to be qualified for the position. Education
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE AT GS-09 LEVEL (2 grade): Two full years of progressively higher level graduate education, or Master's or equivalent graduate degree such as LL.B. or J.D., may be substituted to meet the experience requirement. Education must be
directly related.
