The primary purpose of this position is provide technical and clerical support for the smooth operation of the Child Development Program to include customer service, monitoring customer entry, maintaining facility requirements in fire, safety, health and cleanliness, initiating and maintaining files, and assisting with manager on duty and scheduling tasks.
Duties
Provide customer service to patrons and performs manager on Duty tasks.
Completes NAF and APF Payroll.
Completes financial paperwork, performs inspections and completes reports.
Maintain waiting list for both Child Development Centers and places children in centers for care IAW AF standards.
Cardholder for the NAF and APF Government Purchase Card programs.

- Occasionally rotates through various program development functions and duties such as inspections and reports.
- Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
- Employee is subject to obtaining and maintaining training, to include infant/child CPR, First Aid and remain current
during time of employment.
- Must provide evidence of required immunizations; and be able to successfully complete required physical exam including the ability to lift and carry 45 pounds.
- Work requires, but is not limited to, prolonged periods of sitting, standing, stooping, crouching, and reaching. A physical examination is required.

- Must complete all training requirements including child abuse prevention, recognizing, and reporting, customer service and appropriate guidance.
- Required to attend training sessions and special openings conducted on the weekends and evening hours.
- May be required to work an uncommon tour of duty to include training sessions and special openings conducted on the weekends and evening hours.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the general experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of general experience. General experience is progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates the ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled such as performing a variety of routine clerical work in office, business or fiscal operations which includes filing, answering telephones, receiving visitors, and processing mail.
OR
EDUCATION: Two (2) years above high school, obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college or university. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school. COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Equivalent combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of child development center operations including fire, health and safety requirements to include the ability to conduct facility inspection in these areas.
Knowledge of and ability to interpret Air Force Instructions, DoD/MAJCOM directives, local policies and various regulations, practices, and procedures.
Knowledge of clerical procedures and ability to accurately complete, review and maintain records.
Ability to contend with a range of problems common to a child development environment.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Ability to establish effective working relationships with others.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
