You will operate complex state-of-the-art equipment to prepare surfaces and apply coatings to critical surfaces. You will setup and maintain environmental controls to support work and to adhere to Environmental Protection Agency regulations. You will train and mentor less skilled employees. You will use drawings, specifications, technical manuals, engineering standards, and manufactures' instructions to ensure proper surface preparation and application of coating. You will maintain all required paperwork and in-progress quality assurance forms and certifications. You will provide process improvements to engineering to reduce cost or improved functional characteristics.

  • You may be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision: - Blasting and producing a surface profile ready for coating. - Identifying coating materials and matching tint and tone. - Applying paints at required mil thickness. - Ability to set up/use pumps and spray equipment such as conventional, airless, electrostatic powder, and plasma powder application. - Reading, interpreting, and correctly following complex written instructions, drawings, specifications, engineering standards, and manufactures' requirements.
