You will serve as a Supervisory Electrical Engineer and Technical Discipline Coordinator Planning, Design, and Construction (PDC) Directorate in the NAVAL FACILITIES ENGINEERING SYSTEMS COMMAND MID-ATLANTIC.
Duties
You will assign work assignments and schedules to staff members to ensure work is completed based on priorities and capabilities of the employees.
You will maintain the MIDLANT electrical Community of Practice including management of training, hiring and transition planning.
You will review electrical system designs to ensure compliance with agency, national, and local building codes, standards, and requirements.
You will develop project plans (e.g., engineering design and construction project) to include work requirements, resource needs, execution schedules and acquisition plans.
You will monitor large-scale electrical engineering projects for compliance with applicable objectives, standards, and requirements.
You will participate in construction contract negotiation to provide electrical engineering technical expertise.
You will supervise subordinate supervisors and oversee three teams of engineers.

Qualifications
This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: You must currently be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE). Your license must be held in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. You MUST provide a copy of your current license with your application. A copy of a wall certificate that does not have an expiration date will not serve to verify this requirement.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying advanced engineering theories, concepts, principles and practices to provide innovative recommendations in electrical engineering; 2) Executing significant projects representing an important segment of the agency's operating programs; 3) Providing consultations on electrical engineering issues for all architectural design and engineering activities for facilities construction; 4) Coordinating various engineering and architecture disciplines to deliver advisory services accomplishing cost effective, high-quality design and construction activities; 5) Acting as discipline specific (electrical engineering) Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the agency by whom you have been employed; and 6) Serving as a supervisor for diverse and highly technical electrical engineers and technicians. Education
Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual:
Successful completion of a professional engineering degree. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree (or higher) in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET); or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico. Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above). Successful completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in an appropriate scientific field, e.g., engineering technology, physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology, may be accepted in lieu of a bachelor's degree in engineering, provided the applicant has had at least one year of professional engineering experience acquired under professional engineering supervision and guidance. Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
