Serves as an Administrative Assistant in a Flight Standards functional area. Incumbent will be responsible for providing administrative support on assigned programs and management functions. Incumbent will support the office by ensuring administrative processes function smoothly and effectively. May work as a team member on various projects.
Duties
Incumbent will provide essential administrative and operational services in support of assigned organizational unit or sub organization. Provide advice and guidance to management on varying fiscal and administrative matters. Apply basic knowledge and understanding of management principles, practices, methods, and techniques.
Requirements
- US Citizenship is required.
- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.

- Security Requirement: Moderate Risk (5). This position requires completion and favorable adjudication of a background investigation prior to appointment, unless a waiver is obtained. Subject to a 5 year period reinvestigation.
- This position may be filled at the FV-F, FV-G or FV-H at the discretion of management.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position at the FV-F (FG/GS 5-9), you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least three years of progressively responsible general experience that demonstrates the ability to analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, recognize solutions, plan and organize work and convey information, with at least one year equivalent to the FG/GS-4 level. Such experience may have been gained in administrative, professional, technical, investigative or other responsible work. Experience in substantive and relevant secretarial, clerical or other responsible work may be qualifying as long as the work experience provides evidence of the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the duties of this position.To qualify for this position at the FV-G Level, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-F or FG/GS-5/7/9 level.To qualify for this position at the FV-H Level, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-G or FG/GS-10/11 in the Federal Service.Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience includes:FV-G: Experience applying management principles, methods, and techniques to solve the problems of the organization; experience with the general management of an organization; experience developing and securing for the fiscal and business resources and services needed to manage and run an organization.FV-H: Experience applying management principles, methods, and techniques to solve the problems of the organization; experience integrating management services with the general management of an organization; experience developing and securing the fiscal and business resources and services needed to manage and run an organization; experience performing systematic general management reviews and audits to reach conclusions and make recommendations.Qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this vacancy announcement.
Education
Education substitution for FV-F: Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree, gained from an accredited college or university.
Education substitution for FV-G:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related, OR a combination of education and experience. Education at the graduate level in an accredited college or university must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.
Education substitution for FV-H: Not Applicable
To qualify based on education: If qualifying based on education, Applicants MUST submit a copy of their college or university transcript by the closing date. If selected, an official transcript will be required. Schools must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Foreign education must be evaluated by a private professional organization specializing in interpretation of foreign education credentials or an accredited US. educational institution in terms of equivalency to a degree acquired at an American college or university. A copy of the evaluation results must be included in your application package. If you do not include a copy of the evaluation as part of your application package, your foreign education will not be considered.
