This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) & the Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB) to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: This position will be filled on a permanent basis.
Duties
As an Engineering Technician, you will be responsible for the following:
Serves as Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) to provide technical support and inspection for maintenance, repair, or alteration of buildings, utilities, parking areas and roadways.
Performs on-site inspection of maintenance repair, constructions work, to ensure compliance with contract and building code.
Performing all coordination requirements between contractor, customer, contracting Officer and Directorate of Public Works (DPW).
Analyzing problems and reviews and interprets the requirement of plans and specification for others as necessary, including Contractor representatives.
Coordinate the planning, modification, design; and other technical functions involved in assigned facilities.
Coordinating all work required for engineering management, construction, operations, overall coordination and for providing authoritative advice, assistance and information on all matters related to assigned projects and Project Work Orders (PWOs).

Experience required: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled such as: Assisting in performing quality assurance surveillance and physical inspections of the current projects to ensure projects meet quality, time and cost requirements; Reviewing contractor's project packages to ensure they are accurate and complete. Monitoring contractor's safety plans to ensure within regulations; Performing contract negotiations under close review of higher official.
The definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
