The candidate will work in Region Three / Mitigation Divistion. In this position you will work as a member of the Region 3 Mitigation Division, Outreach Branch. The ideal candidate for this position will have experience leading multi-disciplinary teams, and experience conducting and/or leading community outreach and engagement on one or more FEMA Mitigation programs.

What will I do in this position if hired?
In this position, you will report to the Deputy Director and will oversee a branch comprised of multiple teams that focus on outreach strategy, partnership building, external training and Direct Technical Assistance/place based technical assistance.

Qualifications
Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The time-in-grade and qualification requirements must be met within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
To qualify for this position at the GS-14 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following:
Experience supervising staff; AND
Experience conducting and/or leading community engagement and outreach on one more FEMA Mitigation programs; AND
Experience directing or developing a strategic approach to community engagement and outreach; AND
Experience collaborating with internal (FEMA-wide) and external partners (state, local, tribal governments and other Federal Agencies) to leverage partnerships and achieve mitigation objectives.
