This position is located at the Outdoor Recreation Facility, MWR department; NAS Corpus Christi, Texas. This position is responsible for establishing and maintaining all outdoor recreation programs, equipment and facilities for active duty military, their dependents, retired military and other authorized personnel. The primary function of this position is to perform the full range of duties of Recreation Assistant/Salesclerk.
Duties
Issues and receives recreational equipment.
Performs regularly scheduled inventories on Outdoor Recreation equipment.
Performs monthly resale inventories and helps Outdoor Recreation meet its COG targets.
Takes reservations for RV Park/Campgrounds.
Maintains all records for RV park/campgrounds and storage facilities.
Collects fees and prepares and codes daily reports, records sales on a register, deposits funds, is responsible for completing all required paperwork.
Inspects, cleans & repairs recreational equipment as required.
Maintains rental records for equipment, boat sheds, boat slips and compound. Contacts renters to insure timely payment of rental fees.
Maintains an attractive brochures display. Researches attractions available in the local area. Establishes liaisons and coordinates exchange of information with ITT and local establishments.
Performs housekeeping task as required to ensure a neat and clean working space.
Trains new employees in cash handling, rental form application, RV Park reservations, customer service and other Outdoor Recreation gear/equipment rental procedures. Instructs patrons in all phases of safety regulations concerning use of boats and motors.
Explains float plan.
Performs other related duties as required.
Requirements
- Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation. Background investigations are conducted using fingerprint identification and completion of background inquiry forms.
- Must successfully pass the E-verify employment verification check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.
- You must go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the Form I-9.
- May be required to pass pre-employment examinations.
- Must provide proof of U.S. Citizenship or U.S. National.
- A valid State driver's license is required to operate motor vehicles.
- Must have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.
- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- Some light lifting and carrying objects weighing up to twenty-five pounds.
- This position requires prolong sitting and standing.

Specialized experience directly related to the duties described above. Qualifying experience must have been equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
The incumbent must be able to meet and deal with customers in a professional and business like manner. A minimum of two years customer service experience.
Must present a neat clean and well-groomed appearance.
Must demonstrate ability to operate cash register and office equipment, i.e. telephone, typewriter, calculator and computer.
Must have knowledge of office operation, i.e. filing, light bookkeeping and spreadsheets.
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
