The primary purpose of this position is to serve as staff advisor to the Senior ART of the Logistics Readiness Squadron (LRS) for all materiel management disciplines. Click on "Learn more about this agency" button below to view Eligibilities being considered and other IMPORTANT information.

Duties

Serve as the control point to provide personnel with technical guidance and support to ensure compliance with applicable Department of Defense (DoD), air Force (AF), Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFAR), instructions, directives, and policy. Tracks the status of mobility assets and oversees the wing's clothing account/program. Knowledge of TCMAX Asset Management Suite capabilities is preferred. Manages supply-related matters, Custodian Authorization/Custody Receipt Listing (CA-CRL) equipment and assesses mission readiness. Serves as the supply focal point for assistance on issues concerning depot level reparable (DLR). Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management. Manages the War Reserve Materiel (WRM), Readiness Support Package (RSP), Support Equipment (SE) and War Consumables Distribution Objective (WCDO) programs for LRS to ensure compliance with Air Force directives and instructions governing stocking, storage, preservation, accounting and reporting of assets.

  • Work schedule may be aligned to allow incumbent to fully participate in Unit Training Assemblies (UTA).
  • May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours and/or Shift work may be required which may include overtime and/or irregular hours.
  • Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft/vehicle to conferences, meetings, or functions away from the duty office/location. Travel may include overnight stays.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Administrative and Management Positions for General Supply Series, 2001. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of accepted supply principles, concepts, and methods of one or more supply specializations. Knowledge of analytical techniques to conduct studies of supply operations and to determine effectiveness of supply support. OR EDUCATION: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B or J.D., if related, in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as logistics or supply chain management . OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Extensive knowledge of supply/logistics operating activities and their interface with various echelons on staff elements. Knowledge of a broad range of supply regulations, procedures, guidelines, and their relationships to a total supply program. Skill and knowledge of overall supply operation in order to provide guidance and advice matters pertaining to supply support and to resolve issues involving various conflicting requirements. Ability to communicate effectively (orally and in writing) with staff, operating officials, and others to gather facts effectively. Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) regulations, practices, and procedures. Ability to analyze, plan, budget, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
