You will serve as a GG-1412-12 Technical Information Specialist for the OFFICE OF NAVAL INTELLIGENCE (ONI) in Suitland, MD. As a Command Research Center team member and database administrator for the library online database system, you will act as a subject matter expert on all library related systems and serve as a project leader for developing new or enhanced systems to deliver technical information.
Duties
You will serve as a technical information specialist with duties as a representative and database administrator for the library online database system.
You will act with little to no oversight as a subject matter expert on all library related systems, to include: OCLC, Workflow, Lexis/Nexis, SharePoint, FEDLINK, milSuite, and others as identified.
You will perform specialized duties such as troubleshooting database problems, contacting vendors on software and hardware problems, and performing corrective operations as directed.
You will serve as a project leader for developing new or enhanced systems for the delivery of technical information.
You will facilitate user access to new information sources and technologies.
You will work with information specialists to develop gateway systems providing single access paths for authorized users to numerous secure and non-secure research and development databases.
You will develop purchase agreements and statements of work for ONI Command Research Center and Library acquisition.
Requirements

- All Defense Intelligence positions under the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) are in the excepted service by specific statute, 10 U.S.C. 1601. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status.
- This position requires a periodic polygraph examination.
- This position may require a 2-year DCIPS trial period.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GG/GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector, such as:
1. Develop and research databases and other information products and identify/evaluate new information sources and tools (e.g. databases, software packages, and networks) to develop new methods of organizing and disseminating information, such as developing gateways to a specialized database.
2. Provide support for library functions, including cataloging, circulation, responding to reference questions, and collection management.
3. Provide subject-area reference services and information searches for customers by performing complex searches in response to specific requests, locating and selecting information from a broad range of current and retrospective resources, and analyzing results.
4. Work with customers to determine library service requirements and acquire information through procurement processes to fulfill those requirements.
