You will serve as a Firefighter/ BLS (EMT) in the Marine Corps Recruitment Depot, Parris Island, SC of MCRD ERR PI SC.
Duties
You will perform engine company inspections, and building pre-plans, looking for infractions and the locations of local alarm and sprinkler systems, power, water, and gas shutoffs, noting all hazardous storage or conditions inside and outside.
You will perform station, grounds, apparatus, and equipment maintenance.
You will carry out evacuation drills, reset sprinkler and local alarm systems.
You will participate in all drills and classroom training to maintain level of proficiency to perform required duties.
You will perform emergency communication duties
You will respond to all hazardous materials incidents required.

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

- This position requires rotating shift work.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid driver’s license within 30 days of hire.
- The incumbent must be certified at the appropriate firefighting certification levels as outline in the DODI 6055.6M, Department of Defense (DOD) Fire and Emergency Services Certification Program.
- You will be required to possess and maintain a HAZMAT Awareness and HAZMAT Operations certifications as outlined in DODI 1400.25 Vol 336.
- This is a bargaining unit position.
- You must have completed an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT/AED) or recertification program by time of application.

Qualifications
GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector; performing most or all of the following duties. 1.) Providing emergency medical treatment to include but not limited to cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and rescue of patients in confined spaces and auto extrications, and part of an emergency response team performing non-invasive emergency medical procedures; structural firefighting; responding to hazardous material emergency operations.2.) Drives apparatus to scene of emergencies following specified routes or selects alternative routes as necessary. 3.) Operates apparatus fire pumps and aerial devices. Determines and applies adequate water pressure to firefighter hose lines. 4.) Participating in all the drills and classroom trainings to maintain a level of proficiency to perform required duties.
GS-06: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector; performing most or all of the following duties. 1.)
