About the Position: Serves as maintenance representative responsible for maintaining surveillance over a wide range of facility maintenance areas concerned with repair and upkeep of Government operated Range Operations Facilities. The position is located in the Training Division, Range Branch, Range Operations.

Duties

Plan and conduct scheduled inspections of all range support facilities to include live-fire ranges, buildings, electrical services, and utilities. Advise and assist on range repair and maintenance activities. Identify maintenance requirements to generate work order requests for repair to correct range problems. Perform trouble-shooting and maintenance activities, including service and/or replacement of target devices and control systems. Act as the Range Operations liaison between Range Operations, contractor personnel and the Directorate of Public Works to ensure submission of Demand Maintenance Order (DMO) requests. Serve as primary Point of Contact (POC) and coordinator for facility outages and disruptions to real property functionality (i.e. Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) for contractor operated facilities.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: engineering, industrial arts, property management, or business administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Facilities InspectionFacilities Operations and MaintenanceFacilities Reporting and Record-Keeping Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
