WHAT IS THE TAXPAYER SERVICES (TS)DIVISION?

Vacancies will be filled in the following specialty areas:
Taxpayer Services Customer Assistance, Relationship and Education, Correspondence Production Services Central
The following are the duties of this position at the full working level.
Uses weight-handling equipment including fork-lifts and pallet jacks and moves forms, supplies, equipment and finished mail to and from a warehouse or staging area.
Delivers positions and stacks boxes, trays, and pallets of materials safely and effectively in storage and work areas.
Operates packaging equipment such as banding, shrink wrap machines, straps, and wraps packages, mail trays, and pallets for shipment.
Loads stock in staging areas and inserts equipment according to established procedures.
Assembles mail trays onto pallets for shipment according to established procedures.
Qualifications
Federal experience is not required. The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector or Volunteer Service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-timework is considered on a prorated basis. To be eligible for this position at this grade level, you must meet the requirements below:A specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position. To be qualifying your experience should demonstrate the following: Able to perform very heavy manual labor including lifting and moving very heavy equipment and supplies through confined spaces. Use weight-handling equipment to move forms, supplies, property, and equipment to and from the warehouse. Possess knowledge and skill in the operation and control of heavy power equipment and know how to work safely with heavy tools. Operation of weight-handling devices such as electric hand trucks, pallet jacks and dollies to move very heavy loads. Prior job experience or on-the-job training is normally required to gain this level of manual skill.
Physical Requirement: Able to exert very heavy physical effort in performing such tasks as lifting and moving objects weighing over 50 pounds and operating heavy equipment.

TIME AFTER COMPETITIVE APPOINTMENT: By the closing date (or if this is an open continuous announcement, by the cut-off date) specified in this job announcement, current civilian employees must have completed at least 90 days of federal civilian service since their latest non-temporary appointment from a competitive referral certificate, known as time after competitive appointment.
