Duties
Provides the policy guidance to protect property and personnel from terrorist acts through a high priority, comprehensive Antiterrorism Program.
Acts as the main focal point for all Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) organizations, to include all tenant organizations on antiterrorism and assists in plans for long-term program goals.
Serves as chairperson of the Antiterrorism Program working group and works with Federal local Joint TerrorismTask Force
and Department of Defense (DoD) agencies, military services, State and local law enforcement agencies to resolve common concerns and issues.
Provides policy assistance, and information oversight for management to include; physical security, and critical infrastructure protection to assist on matters pertaining to the Antiterrorism Program.
Ensures appropriate Antiterrorism Program protection and readiness of elements and personnel are carried out and provided readiness training while pursuing mission accomplishment.
Manages Antiterrorism Program measures for Critical Asset Security for all assigned organizations to include tenants.
Schedules and conducts local Antiterrorism Program vulnerability assessments with qualified team members.

Qualifications
To qualify for a Security Specialist (Antiterrorism Officer), your resume and supporting documentation must support:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
Contributing to an antiterrorism program which provides defensive measures to reduce the vulnerability of individuals and property to terrorist acts.
Assisting with creation of policy guidance and procedures for antiterrorism programs.
Participating in antiterrorism vulnerability assessments.
Conducts and maintains various antiterrorism trainings for internal organizations.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
