Duties
Serves as a primary member of the High Plains District Leadership Team.

Directs long range planning efforts such as developing the Master Plan, Interpretive Prospectus, Recreation Area Management Plans and Cultural Resource Management Plans.
Directs preparation and execution of standard operating procedures and business and operating plans. Coordinates and plans work for joint partnership projects. Identifies, develops and sustains organizations to partner with.
Requirements

Qualifications

FOR GS-12: You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples:
One year experience as either a GS-0203, Outdoor Recreation Planner, GS-1001 Visitor Information Specialist / Interpretive Technician, or GS-0025 Interpretive ranger at the GS 11 level.
Experience in developing and executing an operations budget for facility maintenance, staff training, and developing or executing interpretive programs.
Experience in working with government partnerships with private 501C(3) non-profit organizations.
Experience in developing or administering a volunteer program in support of visitor services or interpretive programs.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade requirement in accordance with 5 CFR 300.604. If you are a current Federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must have completed a minimum of 52 weeks at the next lower grade level.
Physical Demands: The incumbent must be physically able to perform efficiently the duties of the position. A high level of physical stamina and absence of physical disability is required as arduous physical exercise under rigorous and unusual environmental conditions may often occur. He/she may be required to assist with snow removal and maintenance which includes climbing on a roof or a catwalk in the auditorium, and travel over rugged, precipitous, slippery, and hazardous terrain and be exposed to temperature and weather extremes as well as physiographic extremes. The incumbent should possess a good safe driving record.
Work Environment: The incumbent must be a good physical health, since duties my require working in areas where the temperature ranges from 100? in the summer to below 0? in the winter. The work environment spans from outdoors in open high plains country to office settings. Incumbent is required to wear official BLM Visitor Services uniform.
