This position is located in the Division of Insurance and Research, National and Regional Risk Analysis Branch, Dallas Regional Office of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in Dallas, TX.
Salary reflects a pay cap for this position of $275,000.
Duties
Plans and manages the research and analysis for special studies and projects conducted in the regional office in coordination with the Division's senior Washington Office management. Fact-finding information resulting from financial studies is used to make recommendations for process improvements and operational efficiency.
Directs and coordinates the work of the Division’s regional office staff relative to the analyses of banking and financial and matters.
Gathers, analyzes, and presents a wide range of financial information pertaining to the financial services industry, financial markets, FDIC-insured institutions, and state and regional economic conditions and trends. Synthesizes data and relates local and regional trends to national events, and reports findings to the Division’s senior Washington Office management.
Plans and coordinates complex financial and economic analyses related to identifying existing and emerging risks to the insurance funds.
Participates in the design, production, and administration of FDIC publications to disseminate analysis to supervisory personnel, senior management of the Corporation, other regulators, the industry, and the public.
Attends meetings with senior Corporation officials, representatives of other federal and state regulatory agencies, and representatives of financial institutions and private industries. Evaluates and directs the review and maintenance of financial and economic risk analysis program policies, procedures, and guidelines; and, formulates, recommends and implements new and/or revisions to plans, policies, programs and budget of program area.
Exercises supervisory personnel management authority and performs the full range of performance management duties to include: planning, assigning, and reviewing work products of subordinates; establishing guidelines and performance expectations; and, evaluating work performance and providing feedback to others on their performance. Identifies training and developmental needs for staff and provides regular recognition of staff. Works in collaboration with the appropriate Human Resources and Legal staff to administer disciplinary action. Hears and resolves grievances or other disputes as appropriate. Approves/disapproves requests for leave, telework, travel, training, etc.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, skills, and abilities and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Leadership Experience: Experience in leading and coordinating projects, including establishing expectations, reviewing work products/services, monitoring progress, and providing guidance and feedback to team members.
Technical Experience 1: Experience in conducting financial and/or economic analysis of financial markets, the financial industry, area economics or markets, and/or nationwide trends in finance or economics.
Technical Experience 2: Experience in generating high quality publications and reports to inform FDIC and partners on existing or emerging conditions that impact risk to financial institutions and/or the deposit insurance fund.
Technical Experience 3: Experience in leading or conducting collaborative efforts in the gathering, organizing and analysis of data impacting financial markets and the economy; and, developing findings informing on impacts to FDIC operations, financial industries, or risks impacting the deposit insurance fund.
