About the Position: Serve as a Printing Specialist responsible for major printing programs. This position is located in Fort Belvoir, Virginia.

Duties
Perform administrative and technical work covering all areas of the Army’s printing program, which encompasses all possible printing sources.
Analyze customers’ printing requests to determine feasibility from a production, timeliness, cost, and legal standpoint.
Advise customers on materials which may be furnished as reproducible for printing or CD-ROM replication to achieve the needed quality.
Input vital information necessary to complete estimates to ensure the currency and accuracy of information pertaining to Army publications.
Examine furnished materials for printing to ensure that it is prepared properly, prior to submission to the printer.
Provide printing cost estimates for planning and fund obligation purposes.
Write specifications and requirements to be included in printing contracts.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Travel is required approximately 5% of the time.
- Heavy lifting is required up to 50lbs.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience in the Federal service which includes: 1) Performs administrative and technical work which encompasses the processing, printing, and/or coordination of publication products; 2) Develops printing and binding specifications for the procurement and quality assurance of the organizations publications/printed products; AND 3) Maintains the organizations publication databases. This definition of the specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
OR
Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as journalism, business administration, English composition, commerce, accounting, printing or printing engineering, graphic or commercial art, industrial engineering, or economics.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
