About the Position: This position is located at US Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command (NMRTC) Beaufort main building, first floor, Receiving Dock. Forty hours of work per week. The applicant can expect to achieve managing receipt functions in an effective way that enables our department and the Command to meet their missions.
Duties
Selects and sets up proper storage areas for material within the general warehousing plan considering size, shape, quantity, use, and possibility of damage or deterioration, and contamination to or from other items.
Receives, unloads, and processes incoming shipments of medical, laboratory and other items.
Electronically monitors and prepares reports on manufacturer recalled products and equipment.
Assembles items for shipping according to information on receiving vouchers, while verifying stock identification change lists to ensure the selection and assembly of proper items for issue.
Uses handcarts, dollies, and other manual equipment to lift and move stock.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. This position requires a National Agency Check w/ Inquiries (NACI) background check.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination. A candidate selected to this position will be required to sign a statement consenting to annual seasonal influenza vaccination.
- Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series.
- This position is subject to screening and update of required immunizations unless exempted for medical or administrative reasons in accordance with Army Regulation 40-562, Chapters 3 and 4.
- This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- This position may require the employee to wear a uniform, scrubs, or other appropriate medical professional attire while on duty.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Materials Handler ~ without more than normal supervision. The ability to perform common Materials Handler duties to include: receiving, issuing, and processing of incoming supplies/shipments, storing of materials within assigned storage areas according to established policies and procedures, shipping and re-warehousing materials and equipment, operating computer keyboard, various tools, and other material handling equipment to receive, rotate, locate and store supplies. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

Physical Effort: Performs work on hard surfaces and in areas that require some physical exertion such as periods of standing; recurring bending, stooping, or similar activities in uncomfortable positions. May be required to work at a rapid pace for long periods of time. Frequently lifts and carries items that weigh up to 60 pounds. Uses tools which may include saws, hammers, nail pullers, stencil cutters, metal strap cutters, staple guns and other incidental equipment requiring generally moderate exertions, and which pose safety and health risks when not used in accordance with prescribed procedures.
Working Conditions: Works inside a well-lighted, ventilated, properly arranged workspace. Some work is performed outside when moving and storing bulk materials. Working spaces may not always be heated or air conditioned. Subjected to weight handling equipment, sharp jagged edges of material, glass and other such material. May be required to use protective clothing, equipment, devices, or gear such as steel-toed shoes, hard-hat, goggles, etc.
