This position is in the Office of Research and Development, Center for Environmental Measurement and Modeling, Atlantic Coastal Environmental Sciences Division, Program Operations Staff. About: The Office of Research and Development (ORD) This is an office-centered position*--you must physically report to the duty station stated in this announcement on a regular basis. *Work-from-home flexibilities may be authorized as described in the Benefits section.

Qualifications

NOTE:  You must meet qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement. To qualify for the GS-12 level, you must have 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level defined as assisting with the planning and implementation of a field operations program; and researching related facilities, services, and/or equipment updates and alterations to present findings to internal or external audiences. Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas: Ability to operate field operation related equipment such as small boats, trailers, and/or vehicles. Skill in planning, organizing, and/or directing the functions of field operations. Knowledge of small boat capabilities, boating operations, marine safety and regulations as relates to vessel operation and environmental and Environmental Management System (EMS) requirements. Ability to create training materials for internal and external stakeholders. Knowledge of EMS and Environmental Compliance (EC) programs. Skill in oral communication. Skill in written communication. Ability to develop a budget for a program. Skill in contract management. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
