This position is a TERM Not to Exceed 2-years position. It is time-limited and may be extended up to a maximum of eight years.
About the Position: Incumbent oversees the Family Advocacy Program administrative, training, and customer service processes while assisting active-duty military, retired military, family members and civilians.
Duties
Develops installation procedures that outline responsibilities for the execution of the Family Advocacy Program.
Collects, maintains and analyzes data for planning and reporting purposes in accordance with governing program guidance.
Provides early intervention services to families at risk or following an initial incident of abuse.
Provide oversight of Client Managers System (CTS) and monthly management reports for completion.
Manages the development and implementation of Family Advocacy Program trainings.
Develops and implements a post-wide prevention and education program.
Analyze data for planning and reporting purposes in accordance with governing program guidance.
Monitors the caseload of all advocates assigned to the Family Advocacy Program dealing with Domestic Violence assigning new cases and assures that educational needs of employees are met.
Provide community liaison and referral services with installation and community agencies, staff, and other Family Advocacy Program divisions.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
- This is a Term position scheduled to last 2 years. A term position may be extended to a maximum of eight years depending upon the needs of management.
- This is an obligated position. An obligated position is one to which an employee has statutory restoration rights or entitlement based on active military service, recovery from a compensable injury, or return rights based on an overseas tour.
- Term employment is subject to a one-year trial period. Employees serving a trial period can be removed with limited appeal rights.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Basic Education Requirement: Master's degree (or higher degree) in social work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
AND in addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes [insert examples of specialized experience]. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: [insert applicable field(s) of study].
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
