You will serve as a IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) within NAVY SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT ACTIVITY.
This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status.
Duties
You will ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems and data.
You will develop policies and procedures to ensure information systems reliability and accessibility.
You will prevent and defend against unauthorized access to systems network and data.
You will conduct risk assessments of planned and installed information systems to identify vulnerabilities.
You will promote awareness of security issues among management.
You will ensure sound security principles are reflected in the organization's visions and goals.
Requirements

- This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code 612 Security Control Assessor, proficiency level 1 the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Specialized experience must demonstrate performing duties such as the following:
1) Partnering with internal and external stakeholders in assessment of enterprise architecture operations support;
2) Solving IT problems and creating solutions,
3) Utilizing appropriate tools to integrate and represent relevant information;
4) Communicating IT project updates with senior leadership; and
5) Conducting both oral and written communication clearly with senior leaders.
