About the Position: Serves as the Medical Center of Excellence(MEDCoE) expert advisor and program manager for the Operations Security (OPSEC)program. Plans and coordinates the HQ MEDCoE OPSEC Program to safeguard operations and activities from compromise.
Duties
Performs technical program development and administrative functions required to plan, coordinate, execute, and direct MEDCoE OPSEC.
Provides management, development, training, and oversight for the MEDCoE OPSEC program.
Develops external agency advisory relationships with Federal Bureau Investigation and State and Local Law Enforcement agencies to ensure local and state perspectives are aligned with Army OPSEC and Antiterrorism standards.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent obtain the following core SPeD Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within their first two years of employment.
- This position is covered by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program. Incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 5019-R and must pass a urinalysis test as required prior to appointment and periodically thereafter
- This position requires that the employee occasionally travel away from the normal duty station up to 25% of the time
- Position is designated as Mission Essential (IAW DODI 3024.42 and DTM 17-004) position during Inclement Weather Conditions or other designed/identified emergency conditions.
- Must meet the requirements of the Lautenburg amendment which reads as follows: This position allows the incumbent access to firearms and ammunition

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience in the Federal service which includes developing Operations Security (OPSEC) programs and/or plans such as exercise plans, training objectives, scenarios and events; conducting Operations Security (OPSEC) assessments for subordinate organizations; and assisting with preparing appropriate plans, policies, and/or standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the successful implementation of Operations Security (OPSEC) programs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11)

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
