THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a AIR CARGO SPECIALIST SUPERVISOR (TITLE 32), Position Description Number NGD1545P01 and is part of the TN 164th AW, Air National Guard. This vacancy is not eligible for membership to a labor organization.

Duties

As an AIR CARGO SPECIALIST SUPERVISOR, GS-5201-10, (TITLE 32) you will, Plan weekly or monthly work schedules and sequence of operations. Assign tasks to be performed. Recommend and participate in the selection of personnel to fill vacancies. Perform non-supervisory work of the function as needed. Implement safety regulatory requirements. Prepare for and participate in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization, and command support exercises. Perform other duties as assigned.

• This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
• Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
• Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
• Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
• Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
• Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
• May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
• Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
• Preplacement Medical Requirements: Selectee will be required to undergo medical testing, at the expense of the government, prior to beginning employment. Medical tests are used to determine fitness and eligibility for employment.
• Acceptance of a Federal position may terminate Tricare Reserve Select eligibility.
• For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.
• Must have and maintain a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live and or are principally employed.

Qualifications

Military Grades: E-7 through E-9 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which demonstrates the knowledge of equipment and practices associated with the type of work to be done. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 36 months experience journeyman level which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel. Experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines. Experience that provided knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function. Experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes. Experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations.
