Duties

This position is located in the Office of Inspector General, Immediate Office. The Office of Inspector General is an independent office within EPA that helps the agency protect the environment in a more efficient and cost effective manner. We consist of auditors, program analysts, investigators, and others with extensive expertise. Although we are a part of EPA, Congress provides us with our funding separate from the agency, to ensure our independence.

Qualifications

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Applicant must possess one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade of GS-15 or equivalent band level of responsibility in the Federal Service. Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:  GS-15:   1) Serving as a subject matter expert in conflict resolution, utilizing principles, concepts, and methodologies (e.g. mediation, facilitation, conflict coaching) in order to resolve a wide-range of difficult issues; 2) Performs climate assessments to identify and resolve complex and critical conflict areas within the OIG and identifying the most appropriate path for each case; and 3) Advocating for and increasing awareness of critical issues by conducting outreach to stakeholders, and establishing and maintaining effective working relationships at all levels in the agency. Evidence of the above specialized experience must be supported by detailed documentation of duties performed in positions held.
