Duties

Serve as Field Operations Branch Chief and Telecommunication Manager, performing the full range of supervisory and nonsupervisory functions. Accomplish work in support of missions and testing through combined technical and administrative direction of others Exercise technical and administrative supervision of a subordinate staff engaged in providing technical support in real-time operation of a technical control center and various related telecommunications systems. Direct the installation, maintenance, mission operation, testing, and electronic circuit performance of a variety of digital and analog telecommunications systems and equipment. Locate and determine the nature and extent of specific malfunctions existing in highly complex digital and analog systems and equipment.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
• Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
• This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
• This position may require overnight travel away from the normal duty station for business purposes up to 5% of the time.
