About the Position: This position is located at DPG, West Desert Test Center, Office of the WDTC Director, Operations Division, Range & Airfield Operations, Dugway, Utah.

Duties
Supervise airfield operations and range control employees engaged in a variety of work associated with airfield and range operations, training,
and other related functions.
Advise and assist commanders and staff officers from active and reserve units training at Dugway Proving Ground implementing their training
plans.
Manage and enforce the installation range control programs and prepares and staffs all installation range control publications.
Coordinate range safety matters and environmental concerns within the range complex, and is authorized to take actions deemed necessary to
remove hazards.
Collaborate with the Directorate of Public Works (DPW), ITAM Coordinator, and contractors to ensure that ranges built are designed and
constructed to meet training requirements and safety standards.
Requirements
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance through the duration of your employment
- One-year trial/probationary period may be required.
- This position requires the employee to occasionally travel away from the normal duty station up to 10% of the time.
- A one-year supervisory probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
- Position may require incumbent to work overtime and/or work nights/weekends to support operations being conducted on the range.
- Position requires incumbent to obtain and maintain a state issued driver's license.
- This is an obligated position. An obligated position is one to which an employee has statutory restoration rights or entitlement based on active military service, recovery from a compensable injury, or return rights based on an overseas tour.
- You will be asked to sign an agreement acknowledging that you are aware of the obligation and willing to be displaced under reduction in force procedures upon the return of the former incumbent.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) experience performing a variety of work associated with airfield and range operations, training, scheduling airspace/ground, and other related functions for a Major Range Testing Facilities Base (MRTFB); (2) experience ensuring that ranges are designed and constructed to meet test and evaluation/training safety standards; (3) experience maintenance of airfield, ranges, facilities and range equipment; and (4)experience serving as technical advisor on range operations to senior management pointed as the Range Officer; and 5. Experience providing annual input to the range sustainability program for environmental compliance. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
