About the Position: The incumbent will serve as a Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist assigned to the 404th Army Field Support Brigade, U.S. Army Sustainment Command, in Natick, Massachusetts.
Duties
Assure timely operational support and integration of new or changing Material Maintenance, Transportation, Supply and Services planning concepts
Plan, establish, and develop overall logistics criteria and ensure allocation of prescribed resources.
Exercise technical and administrative supervision including planning the overall work of the division.
Review reports of inspections from post or higher headquarters; and assure that final positive action is taken on all action items and completed within the established deadlines.
Serve as advisor through the Logistics Readiness Center Director to the Deputy Garrison Commander, Garrison Commander, and other installation and activity leaders.
Review and analyze the division short- and long-range strategic logistics planning objectives and goals.
Present and secure concurrence of plans, proposals, and methods for the correction of obstacles affecting logistic support.
Provide contract oversight, including review, monitoring, and evaluation of contractor performance in the installation supply and services activities.
Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time which may involve travel by various means including commercial and government aircraft, and motor vehicles. Overseas travel may be necessary.
- This position may require the incumbent to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
- This position may require the incumbent to work overtime.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Planning and/or implementing one or more logistics activities which may include maintenance, supply, ammunition, food service, laundry, transportation, property accountability, or fuel operations; 2) Conducting analysis of logistics programs and/or operations; 3) Reviewing contracts for compliance; and 4) Leading projects and/or personnel. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
