This position is located in the National Credit Union Administration, Southern Region. The Associate Regional Director for Operations is responsible for participating with the Regional Director in planning and implementing the most effective regional office organization.
Duties
As the Associate Regional Director for Operations, you will be responsible for:
Participating with the Regional Director in planning and implementing the regional office programs, recommending actions which will provide the best results;
Identifying and resolving regional office program operational problems, providing leadership and direction;
Supervising the preparation and execution of administrative actions such as: cease and desist orders, conservatorship, civil money penalties, termination of insurance, mergers, special assistance, voluntary and involuntary liquidations, removal of credit union officials from office, prohibition orders, etc;
Analyzing program requirements for assigned divisions and staff and determine staff resources, equipment, and other resources needed to accomplish work assignments;
Making adjustments among staff and prepare plans to meet substantial changes in the workload, as appropriate, to meet priorities and deadlines;
Making budget recommendations appropriate to support program requirements;
Initiating training programs to ensure all assigned employees receive the appropriate training for their position and financial and material resources are available to support program or policy implementation;
Exercising direct leadership and supervision over the regional office staff and the Divisions of Special Actions, Management Services, and Supervision performing the full range of managerial and supervisory functions such as recommending subordinates for promotions, reassignments, recognition, disciplinary action, etc.

Qualifications
For the SS-01 grade level, you must have one year (12 months) of full-time specialized experience comparable in difficulty and responsibility to the CU-15 grade level in the public or private sector. Qualifying specialized experience is defined as experience serving as a senior level manager or executive responsible for leading or managing a staff responsible for managing, supervising, or examining financial institution operations.

Education
