THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT OFFICER, Position Description Number D2169P01 and is part of the 106TH RQW, National Guard. This vacancy does not meet the criteria for appointment of annuitants. This is an Indefinite position with the possibility to convert to Permanent.

Duties

As a Logistics Management Officer, GS-0346-12, you will serve as the Operations Officer of the Logistics Readiness Squadron/Flight. Functions as the technical advisor as well as the supervisor of logistics readiness operations including but not limited to: readiness; logistics planning; resource management; supply and transportation support; procedures and systems; etc. Provides training to unit members in the accomplishment of the tasks of the squadron/flight/mission.

Requirements

  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
  • Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
  • Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver’s license for the state in which they live or are principally employed.
  • For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.
  • This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
  • Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
  • Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.

Qualifications

Military Grades: Officer Only GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training involving judgment and/or analytical ability in the logistics field. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1-year specialized experience, education or training equivalent to at least next lower grade level. Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel. Must have experience providing supervision, leadership, comprehensive planning of financial and day-to-day and long-term programs within the Logistics Readiness activity in order to ensure sustained readiness support of ANG organizations. Must have experience planning, organizing, and maintaining oversight of the activities of the Logistics Readiness Squadron/flight, ensuring the planning efforts and work products and services of all the squadron/flight functions comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meet customer needs. Must have experience that involves the direction, development, or performance of logistical management functions in support of mission, weapon systems, etc.
