THIS IS AN INDIANA NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION This position is in the Excepted Service under the authority of Title V, P.L. 114-328, Sections 932 and 1084 (FY17 NDAA) This position is part of the IN 122nd Fighter Wing, Indiana National Guard under Position Description Number T5210000. Duties

Manages a most complex, highly technical environmental management and protection program and serves as the installation’s single most knowledgeable expert on DoD, AF, ANG, EPA state specific environmental laws and regulations. Manages the entire Planning, Programming, Budget and Execution (PPB/E) for the installations environmental quality (EQ) program area. Prepares and guides implementation of environmental program plans. Serves as an active member of the installation Design Working Group (DWG) accomplishing short term and long range planning in conjunction with Civil Engineering for future military construction and renovation projects. In accordance with the Environmental Impact Analysis Process (EIAP)statutory requirements, the incumbent is responsible for evaluating the environmental impact of construction and renovation projects. Plans and schedules work in a manner that promotes a smooth flow and even distribution. Performs other duties as assigned.

• Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
• The employee may be required to travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments.
• The work may require the employee to drive a motor vehicle and if so, an appropriate valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In addition to the below Education Requirements, Applicant's must have at least must have 1-year equivalent to at least next lower grade level experience, education, or training for management, supervision, or performance of (1) planning, designing, construction, and/or maintaining structures and facilities; and (2) investigating, measuring, surveying, and mapping the earth's physical features. Degree: professional engineering. To be acceptable, the curriculum must: (1) be in a school of engineering with at least one curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) as a professional engineering curriculum; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics.
