You will serve as a Flight Test Specialist in the Ranges/Targets OPS/Instrumentation & Labs Group, China Lake Ranges Dept of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV CHINA LAKE.

Duties

You will be responsible for continuous familiarization of range capabilities, assets, and operational procedures. You will guide range instrumentation and support personnel during live operations within the complex. You will actively participate in pre-post flight mission briefings. You will coordinate with range scheduling for event scenario approvals ensuring mission objectives are achieved in a safe and effective manner.

• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band (DS-02) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Experience in utilizing Air Traffic Control communication systems; 2) Coordinating range scheduling for military test plans, ensuring missing objectives; 3) Familiarity with explosive weapon platforms and basic understanding of Military aircraft operations; 4) Demonstrating the ability to work well in a team environment.
