This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of Information Technology,Division of Enterprise Architecture.
As a IT Specialist (ENTARCH), GS-2210-13, you will provide technical expertise and program management in conceptualizing, creating, and continuing the Enterprise Architecture (EA) program within CMS.
Duties
Direct the development and use of an enterprise architecture and investment process to reduce risk, align IT with business user needs, and manage IT as an investment.
Interpret organization-wide Information Systems architecture guidance and standards and establishes related to CMS standards, policies and guidelines to ensure appropriate technical application, implementation, and compatibility.
Provide technical, analytical, and management guidance for the planning, review, evaluation, implementation, coordination, and integration of the CMS Enterprise Architecture (EA).
Promote and design efficient improvements to the CMS work processes that include execution of IT projects and the integration of system and data.
Make presentations to various leaders and committees, communicating complex ideas clearly and concisely while making recommendations to expedite problem solving and decision-making.

I have IT-related experience, demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience obtained in either the private or public sector and/or completion of specific, intensive training that demonstrates that I possess each of the following four competencies:

In order to qualify for the GS-13, you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include:
1) Creating, applying, and maintaining information technology (IT) enterprise architecture (EA) principles and practices to identify and address inefficiencies, redundancies, and waste; 2) Ensuring EA aligns with process, budget and IT system requirements and 3) Performing studies in the development and evolution of an assigned EA program and creating human centered design documents (such as Sentiment Maps, Personas, Journey Maps, and Insight and Opportunities Reports) 4) Creating standard EA documents ( such as Business Process models, operational and system models).
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
