About the Position: This position falls under the Defense Health Agency National Capital Region Medical Directorate at A.T. Augusta Medical Center providing nursing care duties ranging from routine to moderately specialized in nature within the Department of Family Medicine, Family Medicine Clinic.

Duties
Perform a variety of nursing assistant care duties, ranging from routine to moderately specialized in nature within patient-care unit(s).
Assist patients with their personal daily living skills, such as, bathing, a.m. care, p.m. care, feeding, etc.
Obtain patient vital signs, height and weight, lab collection, etc.
Document patient information into electronic medical records/system.
Set up equipment and instruments for routine and complex examinations and procedures.
Change linen, position, and turn bedridden patients, initiate measures to prevent skin breakdown.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A favorable Tier 3 background investigation is required for all Non-Critical Sensitive (NCS), Moderate Risk positions.
- This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to applicant testing and random drug testing. Selectees will be required to consent to participation in random drug urinalysis testing.
- Employees assigned to this position may be designated as Mission Essential and assume Essential Personnel status during inclement/weather/emergencies.
- Incumbent must hold a current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS)Certification that is sponsored/endorsed by the American Heart Association (AHA). Current Advance Life Support or other advanced certification does not supersede BLS completion.
- This position requires the employee to obtain Hepatitis B immunizations and Tuberculin testing unless exempt by physician.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes, 1) Performing nursing assistant duties such as: obtaining patient vital signs, serving meals, feeding patients, monitoring patients (i.e., central monitoring and bedside), 2) Answering patient calls; 3) Utilizing various electronic systems to document patient's chart (i.e. electronic medical record (EMR). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).

Education: Four year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with courses related to the occupation, such as Nursing, Nursing Assistant. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

Combination of Education and Experience: Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
