This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for DHA for Shortage Category and/or Critical Need Positions to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: The Huntington District Operations Division is actively seeking applications to fill multiple vacancies throughout the Big Sandy Region.

Duties

Assists skilled trades or craftsmen by retrieving tools or materials. Assist higher-graded employees in removing, loading, unloading, and disposing brush. Preparing surfaces, priming, and painting various surfaces. Opening and unpacking cartons. Operate motorized government vehicles to transport supplies and/or materials to various locations through out the project.

WG-03 Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): I have the ability to perform common maintenance procedures. I can load and unload vehicles. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Physical effort: The duties require light physical effort which involves exertion such as moderate lifting and carrying light objects weighing up to 50 pounds and walking, bending, stooping, standing and reaching. Working Conditions: Work may be outdoors, but usually not in bad weather. May be exposed to drafty, noisy, dusty, and dirty conditions. the work involves standing and walking on concrete floors and uneven terrain.
