You will serve as an INDUSTRIAL EQUIPMENT REPAIRER in the OPERATIONS OFFICER PRODUCTION DIVISION of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.
Duties
You will perform preventative maintenance work on sewer lines.
You will assist journeyman mechanics in inspecting, cleaning and making repairs to sewer lift stations.
You will respond to emergency trouble calls, such as sewer blockages, backups and missing manhole covers.
You will operate a vacuum truck in cleaning and maintaining sewer systems.
Requirements

The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to do the work of an INDUSTRIAL EQUIPMENT REPAIRER without more than normal supervision. The ability to perform common tasks including: 1) Applying specific maintenance and repair procedures to install, maintain and repair sewer lines and distribution systems; 2) Maintaining and repairing mechanical systems and equipment that control waste; 3) Operating vacuum and jetting trucks to clear and maintain sewer lines and distribution systems; and 4) Using portable machine or hand tools (e.g. levels, feeler gauges, dial indicators, micrometers, tachometers and calipers) to repair, adjust and test sewer lines and distribution systems. I work under the close supervision of a work leader or journey level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.
