Duties
Public Safety Dispatching
Land Mobile Radio System Dispatch Console operations
Operates and Troubleshoots Public Safety Computer Networks
Fire and Security Alarm and Closed Circuit TV monitoring
Records Management for Criminal Justice Information
Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level.
A selectee receiving a first appointment to the Federal Government (Civil Service) is entitled only to the lowest step of the grade for which selected The display of a salary range on this vacancy shall not be construed as granting an entitlement to a higher rate of pay.
Qualifications
All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-05/20/2024-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement.
Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the resume must reflect full and/or part-time or total number of hours worked (i.e., work 40+ hours a week, rather than indicating full-time). If part-time, the hours must be annotated to be able to pro-rate the amount of qualified specialized experience.
GS-05 Qualification Requirements:
EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: (1) providing communications support (e.g., radios, telephones, frequency monitors, computer networks, etc.) to receive messages and organize/coordinate the movement of people or vehicles, especially in the emergency services (e.g., law enforcement, emergency medical, search and rescue, fire) during routine and emergency operations. This can include assisting with public safety dispatching (e.g. law enforcement, emergency medical, search and rescue, and fire) and answering 911 calls. You must include hours per week worked.

EDUCATION: Successful completion of at least 4 years of post-secondary education. You must include transcripts.

Successful completion of a combination of education and experience as described above.
GS-06 Qualification Requirements:
EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: ???????(1) providing communications support (e.g., radios, telephones, frequency monitors, computer networks, etc.) to coordinate emergency units (e.g., law enforcement, emergency medical, search and rescue, fire) during routine and emergency operations to include providing public safety dispatching (e.g. law enforcement, emergency medical, search and rescue, and fire) and answering 911 calls; (2) coordinating responses to incidents; initiates appropriate response of personnel and apparatus in accordance with agency plans, guides, and protocols.
GS-07 Qualification Requirements:
EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: ???????(1) providing 911 dispatching operations (e.g., radios, telephones, frequency monitors, computer networks, Computer Aided Dispatch, etc.) to coordinate emergency units (e.g., law enforcement, emergency medical, search and rescue, fire) during routine and emergency operations of public safety dispatching (e.g. law enforcement, emergency medical, search and rescue, and fire); (2) demonstrated experience as a senior dispatcher serving in a complex dispatch environment of multiple units, jurisdictions, and/or agencies; (3) demonstrated experience in radio traffic prioritization and related communications; (4) serving as the primary point of contact for law enforcement and other public safety responders.
GS-08 Qualification Requirements:
EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as:(1) providing 911 dispatching operations (e.g., radios, telephones, frequency monitors, computer networks, Computer Aided Dispatch, etc.) to coordinate emergency units (e.g., law enforcement, emergency medical, search and rescue, fire) during routine and emergency operations of public safety dispatching (e.g. law enforcement, emergency medical, search and rescue, and fire); (2) demonstrated Experience in providing training to lower graded and or new dispatchers informing them on proper procedures; (3) demonstrated experience as a certified NCIC, NLETS and State Criminal Justice Information network operator accesses, analyzing and utilizing information from national, state and local databases/systems and networks using judgement and initiative to interpret information; (4) demonstrated experience in operation and troubleshooting of public safety computer and radio networks to include but not limited to: Computer Aided Dispatch, 911 Telephone Systemes, Audio Recording systems E.T.C.

Transcripts do not need to be official, but if you are selected for this position and you used your education to qualify, you must provide official transcripts before you begin work.

education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet qualification requirements, you must show that your education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
