At the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), we are at the forefront in preventing and detecting terrorist financing, money laundering, and other financial crime. Serve at the nation's financial intelligence unit and protect the United States financial system from criminals and terrorist financiers.
Duties
As a Training and Outreach Specialist, you will:
Design training programs to promote FinCEN programs, services, and products These classes include trainings for law enforcement, intelligence organizations, the supervisory and regulatory community, and the general public.
Develop training strategies, methodologies, metrics, and delivery systems that are effective in providing users with the capacity to better identify and investigate financial data. Serve as a trainer and content creator for in-person, web-based, and virtual trainings. Explore technological developments that facilitate off-site training while maintaining close control of sensitive information.
Development, coordinate, schedule and delivery of training initiatives. Monitor training materials to ensure the subject matter remains up-to-date.
Coordinate with counterparts in FinCEN divisions, the Department of the Treasury, and federal agencies to develop FinCEN training and outreach strategies.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized experience for the GS-13: You must have one year of experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the federal service, which is directly related to the position and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Specialized experience for this position is defined as experience in ALL of the following:
- Providing advice, guidance, or training to law enforcement, the intelligence community, or national security agencies; AND
- Independently creating materials to educate stakeholders; AND
- Assisting in the design and preparation of training or outreach programs, including curriculum, modules, and reference materials.
Specialized experience for the GS-12: You must have one year of experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the federal service, which is directly related to the position, and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Specialized experience for this position is defined as experience in ALL of the following:
- Providing advice to law enforcement, the intelligence community, or national security agencies; AND
- Assisting in the design and preparation of training or outreach programs, including curriculum, modules, and reference materials.
For the GS-11, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service.
Specialized experience is defined as:
Reviewing, evaluating, and maintaining training program materials in compliance with accreditation standards. Examples of such experience could include:
- Assisting in the design and preparation of training programs, including curriculum, modules, and reference materials.
OR
You may qualify on education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related.
OR
You may qualify with a combination of qualifying education and specialized experience. Only graduate level education in excess of the first two years 36 semester hours (54 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education.
The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Education
Education Requirements: The education generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
