About the position: This position will be assigned to United States Air Force Academy, CO.
This is a Regular Full Time (RFT) position with benefits (medical, dental, life insurance, retirement, 401(k), and annual/sick leave.
Duties
Responsible for the full range of both course and facility operational management and maintenance of the golf course. Implements higher-level directives, formulates procedures and programs to ensure high standards of food and beverage, recreational, and promotional programs. Establishes, reviews, and evaluates food service and purchase of supplies, equipment, and resale merchandise. Establishes financial goals commensurate with market analysis of area or region. Prepares budget, analyzes financial results, and maintains solid financial condition of the facility and course. Responsible for workforce management, recruitment, and staff training. Manages real property resources, and provides expert advice on renovations, improvements, and minor and major construction. Promotes, organizes, schedules, and conducts tournaments, matches, special events, and daily course activities. Conducts or ensures conduct of golf lessons. Ensures course, putting green, chipping practice area, golf carts, and rental equipment are correctly maintained. Oversees the operation of a pro shop and/or snack bar.

Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
- Incumbent must sign the Air Force Mobility agreement with the expectation of an approximate 3 to 5 year change of assignment.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience: Must have experience that shows progressively responsible administrative, professional, technical, or other work which has provided a general knowledge or management principles and practices, or progressively responsible experience in one or more functions managed by a golf course manager.
Substitution for General Experience: A four-year degree from an accredited college with a major in one or a combination or recreation and business management.
Specialized Experience: In addition to the general experience, applicant must have specialized experience gained in the operation or management of a civilian or military golf course operation. The experience must include responsibility or supervision over the various phases of a golf course operation. Specialized experience must be at a level that shows the applicant can perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. A PGA Class A certificate is desirable.
Substitution for General & Specialized Experience: A Professional Golf Management degree from a PGA accredited Professional Golf Management School may be substituted for all general and specialized experience.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements.
