About the Position: This Supervisory Financial Manager is located at Defense Health Agency, Naval Hospital Jacksonville, Dir of RM. Work conducted in an office setting, 8 hour work days.
This is a Direct Hire Solicitation utlizing DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) & the Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB)
Duties
Provide advice and guidance to the immediate command staff and directors on matters concerning policies, plans, and principles of financial management
Execute the financial program through immediate staff supervision over supervisory GS Staff
Responsible for the financial management of the command’s operating program, for obtaining, administratively controlling, and accounting for the funds needed to secure resources for the command
Develop and issue staff guidance, operational policies, procedures, and other criteria to assure timely and effective accomplishment of the mission
Attend policy and planning meetings for the purpose of providing financial management expertise
Advise and make recommendations to the Director on policies, programs and plans that will integrate operating programs, problems, and issues into the financial management program and vice versa
This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation period to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position requires the successful completion of the Financial Management Level 3 Certification within 6 months of employment.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service which includes planning and evaluating the overall management of funding, budget, and, program analysis for a financial program; interpreting financial/budgeting policies and regulations to advise and provide guidance to staff; advise leadership on financial policies, plans, and financial management related to financial programs.
