This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U.S. Coast Guard (USCG), Deputy Commandant for Mission Support (DCMS), Assistant Commandant for Human Resources/SADI (CG-1), Civilian Human Resorces Directorate (CG-12), Commandant (CG-123NE), Baltimore, MD.  

Duties

 You will serve As Lead Human Resources Assistant (HRA), setting priorities and deadlines for a team of HR Assistants. You will assign work based on region and priorities, verifying timely accomplishment of the assigned workload, and working in conjunction with supervisor in facilitating workload balance.Being a CG civilian makes you a valuable member of the CG team. Qualifications

Grade 7:  Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-6 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience includes: Utilizing an automated personnel/payroll related processing system to code or input data and generate and distribute a variety of personnel and payroll reports; explaining basic features of employee benefit programs and ensuring timely and accurate processing of personnel actions; and computing creditable service, researching personnel rules and regulations, communicating personnel information to employees and managers. Grade 8: Applicants must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-7 or equivalent) in the Federal service. Specialized experience includes: Serving as a source of expertise for new or lower graded assistants; examining complex pay situations or problems and researching and applying applicable laws and regulations; providing clerical and technical support for processing a full range of staffing and position classification actions Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
