Duties

You will run and record chemical analysis of water to determine pH, and chlorine residual. You will operate, monitor, and maintain water quality to any or all of the 12-swimming pool located throughout Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune. You will operate raw water well pumping equipment and auxiliaries to ensure equipment is maintained per established guidelines. You will perform preventive maintenance and minor maintenance on pumps and equipment such as adjusting packing, changes gauges, painting, cleaning equipment, buildings, and grounds. You will read various meters and gauges which indicate water pressure, flow data, amount of treated water and records pertinent information. You will take corrective action during critical treatment plant situations (e.g., emergency shut-downs, equipment breakdowns, transfer loads) for safety of self and personnel. You will read and interpret written instructions, sketches, blueprints, or specifications to complete treatment plant assignments. You will comply with safety precautions for working around electric panels and moving machinery while exposed to chemicals, continuous pump operation noise, and other water treatment plant equipment.

  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
